Down the memory lane,
I saw children playing,
Smiles fit perfectly on their faces,
Happiness worth sharing.

Down the memory lane,
On the corner street of memoir avenue,
On the window shops are seen,
The memories worth remembering.

Though not all are sugar coatings,
And absolutely not all are sweet icing,
Lessons are learned from experiences of pain,
Lessons once hard to accept for us to gain.

Now as I walk and reminisce,
On the almost forgotten abbey I saw,
A family standing stronger than their house,
With hands held close tight praying.

And on the present street at the end of memory lane,
The once children, being indebted are paying.
But for all the things their parents gave,
Still, they know it’s love they couldn’t replace.
